About 50/50 E-liquid
50/50 e-liquid is a vape juice that contains equal proportions of two main ingredients: propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), as well as flavourings and nicotine. VG and PG are two safe liquids that are scientifically considered sugar alcohols, but don’t worry – you’re not actually consuming any sugar or alcohol when you vape them.

Propylene Glycol
Propylene glycol (or PG) is a clear, flavourless and odourless substance that is used in vape juice to carry the flavour of the liquid. A petroleum by-product, PG is safe to inhale in vapour and is also used as a food preservative and in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics such as toothpaste.
E-liquids with a high PG percentage tend to be slightly more irritating to the throat, causing a stronger throat hit and sometimes leading to symptoms such as a dry mouth, sore throat or dehydration. To counter this, vapers should make sure that they drink a lot of water while vaping with an e-liquid containing 50% or more PG.
Vegetable Glycerin
Vegetable glycerin (or VG) is a clear, viscous liquid with a slightly sweet flavour. Derived from vegetable oils, this natural chemical helps provide the large clouds of vapour that sub-ohm vapers and cloud-chasers enjoy. Outside of vaping, VG is also used in foods, cosmetics and medicines.
